China's first "multi-storey + intelligent" international cargo terminal has been built in Hangzhou

Hangzhou xiaoshan international airport reconstruction and expansion (international cargo terminal and apron) project started laying the foundation yesterday. The project makes extensive use of automated and informationized containerized cargo handling system and bulk cargo handling system. It is the first "multi-layer structure + intelligent" airport international cargo terminal in China.

The International Cargo Terminal project is an intelligent freight complex with a structure of three floors on the land side and one floor on the air side. It is invested and constructed by Zhejiang Hangzhou Airport Economic Development Co., Ltd, which is jointly established by Zhejiang Airport Group and Hangzhou Airport Economic Zone Management Committee. It is planned to be completed by the end of 2022 and put into operation in 2023.

This project is the first air cargo project settled in the extended zone of Zhejiang Pilot Free Trade Zone. It can not only enjoy the bonus of the free trade zone system, but also enable the construction of Zhejiang Free Trade Zone. It can significantly improve the international air cargo capacity of Hangzhou Area and promote the high-quality development of airport economy. The commencement of the project is also a solid step for Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to compete with Memphis Airport, the world's largest cargo airport, and improve its international cargo security capability.

Since this year, Xiaoshan airport freight continued to rise against the trend, the first three quarters of freight growth ranked first among the top ten airports in the country. In particular, international freight transport has a strong momentum of development. In January to November, driven by intensive "passenger to cargo", temporary flights and new all-cargo aircraft flights, the cargo throughput of 101,900 tons was completed, up 20.49% compared with the caliber, of which the cargo volume of international all-cargo aircraft was 77,300 tons, up 81.81% year-on-year. Especially during the global shopping carnival season on November 11, Xiaoshan Airport not only became the largest cargo airport in China, but also recorded the highest one-day international cargo volume in history on November 21, with the international cargo volume reaching 723 tons. At the same time, the international air cargo network starting from Hangzhou and reaching the world began to take shape. This year, Xiaoshan Airport has added 7 new international all-cargo flight routes from Hangzhou to Bangkok, Clark, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Madrid, Tokyo and Los Angeles. So far, 15 international and regional all-cargo flight routes have been opened.
